MTO Changes to the Road Safety Act for July 2018

This letter from the MTO (Ministry of Transportation) indicates Police vehiclethere are changes that will be effective July 1 2018 and some that will be effective September 1 2018.  The letter attached reflects increased penalties and sanctions including license suspensions and vehicle impoundments related to:

  • Impaired Driving
  • Emergency Vehicles
  • Pedestrian Crossing
  • Careless driving
  • Distracted Driving
